OCTC Announces Accessibility Awards

Owensboro, KY (01/11/2024) — The Accessibility Services Awards recognize faculty and staff members who go above and beyond to make sure students' needs are met in all areas. The Counseling Center takes the nominations, and the awards are given annually. OCTC presented the awards on December 1, 2023.

Accessibility Services Staff Award, Becky Hodskins

Rebecca "Becky" Hodskins was named as the Director of OCTC's TRiO program in 2017. Hodskins is an OCTC alumnus who earned an Associate in Applied Science in Office Administration degree in 1992 and an Associate in Arts degree in 2012. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Eastern Kentucky University in 2013 and a Master of Science in Social Work degree from the University of Louisville in 2017.

She is a member of the National Association of Social Work, the Kentucky Association of Educational Opportunity Program Personnel, the Southeastern Association of Educational Opportunity Program Personnel, the Council for Opportunity in Education, and the Wendell Foster Campus Human Rights Committee.

Accessibility Services Faculty Award, Bethany Ebelhar

Bethany Ebelhar began her career at OCTC in 2008. She holds a Master of Science and Bachelor of Science degrees in Nursing from Murray State University (MSU). She attended Paducah Community College before transferring to MSU. She is a Registered Nurse with experience teaching a myriad of courses in the Nursing program.

Ebelhar is a KCTCS Master Teacher, an OCTC Master Advisor, an ATI Champion Expert User, and is currently participating in the KCTCS LEAD Academy. She also works as an NCLEX reviewer for Ascend Learning and is President of the Daviess County Diabetes Coalition.
