When The Lady Jean Ladies Horse Girl Club learns that their beloved horses are being sold and turned into glue, chaos erupts. Horse Girls can be described as a blend of Mean Girls and Heathers, offering razor-sharp wit and jaw-dropping surprises. Director Grae Greer shares, "The entire process has been nothing but laughter. This show is hilarious until it gets dark. And even then, it's still comical."

Although the set is plastered with pink, ruffles, and ribbons There is something not so sweet about what is about to happen. This dark comedy production features a cast of seven actors who truly embody and authentically capture the essence of middle school life in 2014. Claire-Elizabeth Patterson, who portrays the character Ashleigh, stated, "I indeed was a Horse Girl in 7th grade. It's been fun to take bits and pieces from my own past and include them in my acting process to really identify with the character of Ashleigh."

Horse Girls contains adult language and violence, making it unsuitable for all audience temperaments and ages. The show has a runtime of one hour and 15 minutes that promises to keep you on the edge of your seat. For more information about the production, you can visit the Oak Island Theatre Facebook page.
