OCTC's Taylor Named to Human Relations Commission

Owensboro, KY (01/14/2019) — Owensboro Community & Technical College's (OCTC) Dr. Eunice Taylor, Associate Professor of Nursing was recently appointed for a three year term as a member of the Owensboro Human Relations Commission (HRC). An Air Force veteran, Taylor has been at OCTC since 2004, she has a PhD from the Capella University.

The HRC was founded in 1972 and promotes mutual understanding and respect among all economic, social, religious, ethnic and racial groups in the community. One of the annual events hosted by the HRC is the Martin Luther King Jr. day celebration.

The 2019 event is scheduled for January 21. The community is invited to meet at the Owensboro High School gym at 8:30 a.m., and at 9 a.m. the group will march to Kentucky Wesleyan College. At KWC, the celebration will continue at 10 a.m. in KWC's Rogers Hall, located in the Winchester Center. Dr. Taylor will serve as emcee for the event and the keynote speaker is Dr. Arnold Farr. Farr is a founding member of the Kentucky Poor People's Campaign, a member of the Coordinating Committee and a professor of philosophy at the University of Kentucky.
