Crisis Management Lessons with Trent Lovett

Owensboro, KY (02/11/2020) — Owensboro Community & Technical College (OCTC) is hosting a crisis management presentation with Trent Lovett, the Superintendent of the Marshall County School District. Mr. Lovett will be at OCTC on Friday, February 14 at 10 a.m. in Blandford Lecuture Hall, located in the Humanities building on OCTC Main Campus at 4800 New Hartford Road. The presentation is focused on educational facilities but the public is welcome to attend.
On January 23, 2018 a tragic school shooting occurred at Marshall County High School in Benton, Kentucky. Superintendent Trent Lovett will describe the events of the tragic day and steps taken in the aftermath. You will receive a first person look from not only the Superintendent, but from the father of a student who was inside the school. He will also provide an overview about the recovery steps taken in the immediate days following the event, preparing for the aftermath, how to proceed with the rest of the school year and beyond.
Lovett is a Marshall County native and a graduate of Murray State University with a BS degree in Mathematics and Physics. He began a 30+ year career in education as a Math and Science teacher. Taught for 7 years before becoming an Administrator. Spent 8 years as Asst. Principal and Principal at North Marshall Middle School, 4 years as Principal at Marshall County High School .
This is his 12th year serving as Superintendent of the Marshall County School District. Trent is Married to Lisa Lovett and they reside in Marshall County. They have three children, Landon, Tucker a Senior at the University of KY and Gabbi a Junior at Marshall County High School.
