GO CAREERS ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR NEXT COHORT

Owensboro, KY (08/07/2024) — GO Careers began in 2016 and is a collaborative program with the Greater Owensboro Economic Development Corporation, the Greater Owensboro Chamber of Commerce, and Owensboro Community and Technical College. Upon successfully completing the program, students earn an associate in applied science degree in Business Administration. This degree transfers seamlessly to any Kentucky state college or university if students want to go on to obtain a bachelor's degree.

The GO Careers program utilizes a work-and-learn format and can be completed in 18 months (5 semesters). GO Careers uses a cohort model to allow students to utilize peer support and stay on track with their work schedules. Students can attend class in person or remotely. Classes take place in the first three semesters on Monday and Wednesday mornings. Classes transfer to Tuesdays and Thursdays in the last two semesters to allow another cohort to begin the program. These students are encouraged to utilize federal financial aid and the Work Ready Kentucky Scholarship.

Between several scholarships and tuition coverage from employers, most students can graduate GO Careers with little to no personal debt. Aside from the tuition assistance, students also have several resources available during this program, such as support from their program coordinator, Alicyn Rodgers, peer support from cohort mates, and free tutoring.

The next GO Careers cohort is slated to begin August 19, 2024, and graduate in May 2026. To date, GO Careers has successfully graduated 91 students.

If your company wants to grow your employees' skills and knowledge, please contact Alicyn Rodgers at 270-686-4641 or alicyn.rodgers@kctcs.edu for more information.
