Josh's Broken Feather Partners with the OCTC Foundation to Support Student Success

Owensboro, KY (11/28/2022) — Josh's Broken Feather, a local 501c3 nonprofit, is partnering with the OCTC Foundation, Inc. to establish the Josh's Broken Feather Scholarship and also support GED achievement at Owensboro Community and Technical College (OCTC). This scholarship will support student success through education while growing our community's workforce. Scholarship awards will be made with preference given to students who are currently attending or have successfully completed a substance abuse program and are enrolled in certificate, diploma, or degree programming offered at OCTC

"The support provided by Josh's Broken Feather for scholarships and GED attainment will give the gift of an education and support student success toward better lives in our community for individuals that may have thought education was out of reach. Support like this can truly be a game changer.", said Mike Rodgers, OCTC Foundation Executive Director and Chief Institutional Officer for OCTC.

Josh's Broken Feather's gift of $6,000 will provide scholarships beginning in 2023 at OCTC and demonstrates their commitment to breaking the cycle of addiction through an education in the Greater Owensboro area.

"Our end goal for Josh's Broken Feather is to foster a genuine belief that the person we are helping with this program truly deserves it. Our motto is "you are worth it, let us show you" comes from our hearts and with a hope.....a hope that will help break the cycle and chains of oppression from a terrible addiction."
