Josh's Broken Feather Renews Support of Scholarship with the OCTC Foundation, Inc.
Owensboro, KY (08/08/2024) — Josh's Broken Feather, a local 501c3 nonprofit, has continued their partnership with the OCTC Foundation, Inc. since 2022 to provide the Josh's Broken Feather Scholarship and also support GED achievement at Owensboro Community and Technical College (OCTC). This scholarship has supported several students in the last few years by giving them hope through education while growing our community's workforce. Scholarship awards are made with a preference given to students who are currently attending or have successfully completed a substance abuse program and are enrolled in certificate, diploma, or degree programming offered at OCTC
"We are immensely grateful for the support from Josh's Broken Feather. Their generosity has continued to make an impact on the lives of our students, particularly those who are overcoming personal challenges to pursue their educational and career goals. This partnership not only provides financial assistance but also offers hope and a pathway to a brighter future for many. We look forward to continuing this partnership." Sydney Warren, OCTC Foundation Executive Director and Chief Institutional Advancement Officer for OCTC
Josh's Broken Feather's recent gift will continue to provide scholarships during the 2024-2025 academic year and will help students begin a new journey and pursue their dreams of a better life after addiction.
"We know our son Josh would want everyone facing addiction issues to know you are worth it. That is why we have adopted those words into our motto " you are worth it...let us show you". And working in conjunction with OCTC has allowed those words to be shown through actions." stated Teddy, CEO, and Althe Hatfield, President, of Josh's Broken Feather.
Dr. Scott Williams, OCTC President commented, "We are so honored to call Josh's Broken Feather a partner to the OCTC Foundation, Inc. as they help our students be successful and stay on the path to a wonderful future. Through their continued support, our students have the resources they need to pursue their education and enter a rewarding career that will change their lives."
