OCTC Announces All-Academic Team

Gage Camron and Patrick Edge

Owensboro, KY (05/22/2020) — Owensboro Community & Technical College (OCTC) is pleased to announce that the 2020 members of the KCTCS All-Academic Team are Gage Camron and Patrick Edge.

Gage Michael Camron is graduated with an Associate in Applied Science degree in Electrical Technology with a 4.0 GPA. He participated in the GO FAME program and worked at Metalsa while completing his studies. Gage was also a member of the OCTC NASA Human Exploration Rover Challenge Team that placed 4th in the 2019 international competition in Huntsville, Alabama, placing ahead of numerous universities, including LSU, Purdue, Ohio State, and Auburn. After graduating in December 2019, Camron continued his education at Western Kentucky University in pursuit of a bachelor's degree in Organizational Leadership.

Patrick Edge is president of OCTC's Phi Theta Kappa Chapter, the international honor society for 2-year colleges. He was a member of the OCTC polycystic kidney disease research group and worked on the MRSA research project. He was a Phi Theta Kappa All-Star nominee, a Hager Scholar, and an OCTC Early College student. He has been selected as a Moore Presidential Scholar by Brescia University. After his graduation from Daviess County High School he will transfer to Brescia and major in Biochemistry.

Statewide thirty-two students, two from each of the 16 colleges, were selected for the KCTCS All-Academic Team. Students were chosen based on a rigorous process that focuses on academic performance and community service.
