OCTC Chorus Spring Concert

Mon., May 6 @ 7PM, First Christian Church

Owensboro, KY (04/18/2019) — The Owensboro Community and Technical College (OCTC) Chorus, under the direction of Dr. Connie Ford, OCTC Professor of Music, and accompanied by local piano instructor Angela Bruce, will perform a spring concert at First Christian Church on Monday, May 6 at 7:00 p.m.

The programmed sacred and secular works feature composers from the late 18th century to the present including such composers as Johann Caspar Aiblinger, Knut Nystedt, Johannes Brahms, Z. Randall Stroope, René Clausen, Eleanor Daley, and Ralph Manuel. In its thirty-third year, the forty-five voice chorus, comprised of community members, college students, and high school students, has presented fall and spring concerts continually since the spring of 1987.

This concert's performers include Sopranos: Robbin Baughn, Jeanette Ebelhar, Rhonda Hoffmann, Mary Jungmann, Mary Lou Kapfhammer, Sheila Kyle-Reno, Carroll Laswell, Leah-Marie McDivitt, Dianne McFarling, Shannon Muffett, Debra Sims, Betty Sivis, Clarissa Smith, Janet Tichenor, Alice Welsh, Shelby Wooldridge and Virginia Zoglman. Altos: Cindy Bornander, Linda Burgess, Beverly Chelgren, Donna Clark, Janet Estes, Marjorie Flowers, Mary Goodman, Vicki Meacham, Deborah Mesplay, Maggie O'Harrow, Mary Rummage, Christie Stumpf, Sr. Sharon Sullivan, and Wendy Wells. Tenors: Sue Baggarly, Chris Freels, Rick Houston, Robert Meacham, Mike Tichenor, and Chris Tolliver. Basses: Ron Bornander, Mike Bruce, Kirby Chelgren, Maurice Hanley, Sam Koon, Justin Kurz, Tristen Muffett, and Jim Wilhoyte.
