OCTC Commencement Thursday

6:30 PM at RiverPark Center

Owensboro, KY (12/12/2018) — Owensboro Community & Technical College (OCTC) will hold its December Commencement Ceremony at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, December 13, 2018 at the RiverPark Center, located at 101 Daviess Street in Owensboro. The college will award 1011 credentials to 396 fall and summer semester graduates. The student address will be delivered by Brooklyn Knight. Others featured in the ceremony include: OCTC Alumnus-Megan Crawford, OCTC Student and SGA President-Kaylee Meador and OCTC Student and PTK Honor Society Member-Maggie M. Wilhoite.

Brooklyn Michelle Knight is an Early College student in the Owensboro Community & Technical College Discover College program. She currently serves as Vice President of the OCTC Student Government Association and as Vice President of Scholarship of the college's internationally recognized Phi Theta Kappa chapter. She completed her first OCTC class in Ninth Grade and in her six semesters she has maintained a perfect 4.0 GPA. She is one of two National Merit Semifinalists from Apollo High School, a Hager Scholar, and one of only 32 students statewide nominated for the KCTCS All-Academic Team. Brooklyn plans to attend the University of Kentucky after graduating from OCTC in 2019. She plans to continue her studies as a Biology and Pre-Med major.
