OCTC Earns Awards at NCMPR Conference

Williams Named Pacesetter of 2022

Owensboro, KY (10/28/2022) — Owensboro Community and Technical College (OCTC) is proud to announce awards earned at the District 2 National Council of Marketing and Public Relations (NCMPR) conference held at the Sirata Beach Resort, St. Petersburg, Florida, October 24-26, 2022. NCMPR is the national organization for two-year colleges. NCMPR District 2 is made up of regional states that include: Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, West Virginia, Bermuda, British Virgin Islands and The Bahamas.

In addition to providing professional development NCMPR rewards excellence among two-year college communicators. OCTC earned silver medallion awards for Successful Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Marketing for the OCTC Diversity Newsletter, produced and edited by Bernie Hale and Sharmy Davis, for Interior Display - Series, for the OCTC Southeastern Campus Wall Wraps, created by Bernie Hale, and for Promotional Video - Long Form, the KO Lewis, Artist Spotlight produced and edited by Rodney Newton.

OCTC President, Dr. Scott Williams received the Pacesetter of the Year Award, an honor that recognizes a community college president who has demonstrated special leadership and support in marketing and public relations. The nomination outlined multiple recruiting initiatives, included expanding the marketing department, increased support for the web, and digital marketing. District winners are moved for consideration for the national award.

Dr. Williams commented, "It is an honor to be recognized with this award. Our entire team focuses on student success and through this our marketing team can shine a light on all the great things happening at OCTC. It is a great collaboration, and I am happy to be a part of it!"
