OCTC Foundation Hosting 7th Annual Girls Empowerment Dinner Feb. 29

Owensboro, KY (01/23/2024) — Owensboro Community & Technical College (OCTC) will host the 7th Annual Girls Empowerment Trailblazer Dinner on Thursday, February 29th, at 5:30 p.m. in OCTC's Blandford Lecture Hall, located in the Humanities Building on OCTC's Main Campus at 4800 New Hartford Road in Owensboro, Kentucky. The event will include a keynote presentation from guest speaker Aisha Bowe. Check-in for the main event and a program fair featuring OCTC programs and information will start at 4:30pm.

Aisha Bowe is a former NASA rocket scientist, future Blue Origin astronaut, global motivational speaker, and the founder and CEO of STEM Board that has been recognized in the Inc. 5000 as one of the fastest-growing companies in America. She started her journey by taking a pre-algebra class at a community college, and she remains passionate about empowering students to pursue careers in STEM. Aisha created a self-paced coding kit called LINGO that is currently used by over 5,000 students in 10 countries. Join us to hear Aisha's story and be inspired to blaze your trail!

The event is geared towards middle school and high school ages along with their parents and guardians, but all are welcome to attend.
