OCTC Hosting 3rd Annual Trail Blazer Dinner

Thursday, March 5 with Catrina Kidd

Owensboro, KY (01/16/2020) — Owensboro Community & Technical College is hosting their third annual Trail Blazer Dinner on Thursday, March 5, 2020.

"We originally designed this as an event to highlight women in alternative careers. It had developed into a really inspirational time. We have fathers that bring their daughters, groups from Girl's Inc. and we look forward to it annually," added Mike Rodgers, OCTC's Chief Institutional Officer.

Two years ago Ashley Parlett, a NASCAR mechanic shared stories about building her career as a mechanic in the professional auto racing world. Last year Nikki Eplion-Bryant shared her journey to claim world championship boxing titles.

This year the annual girl's empowerment event features DIY Network's Catrina Kidd, host of the popular show "Texas Flip N Move." A successful entrepreneur and longtime do-it-yourselfer, Catrina Kidd has a strong history of spectacular remodels. Catrina previously helped out as a contractor for the Snow Sisters and has now teamed up with Casey Hester, where her spunk complements his honest grit. She is also Vice President for a restaurant group called Yucatan Taco Stand.

We invite women of all ages to join us to this inspirational story about setting goals and blazing your own trail. This free event is sponsored by the OCTC Foundation, Inc., AXIOM Architecture, and Atmos Energy. In order to plan for refreshments and seating, please reserve your spot by visiting the link 3rdtrailblazerdinner.eventbrite.com or e-mailcadie.underwood@kctcs. edu.
