OCTC Hosts Experience Nursing Day

Owensboro, KY (09/05/2025) — Owensboro Community & Technical College (OCTC) will host Experience Nursing Day on Friday, November 7, 2025. This engaging, hands-on event invites high school students to take part in nursing activities and learn more about the vital role nurses play in patient care and healthcare delivery.
Participants will have the opportunity to practice fundamental nursing skills, including taking vital signs, performing physical assessments, and learning basic wound care techniques. Through interactions with OCTC nursing faculty and staff, students will gain valuable insight into the daily life of a nursing student. The program is designed to provide a realistic and interactive preview of nursing education in action.
Experience Nursing Day will be held at the OCTC Main Campus in the Academic Building, 4800 New Hartford Road, Owensboro, KY 42303. Two sessions will be available: 8:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Seating is limited to ensure meaningful, hands-on learning for each participant. Students are encouraged to register early and select only one session to allow more peers the opportunity to attend.
