OCTC Named a 2026 Great College to Work For

Earning Honor Roll Status in 8 Categories

Owensboro, KY (09/21/2026) — Owensboro Community & Technical College (OCTC) has been named a 2026 Great College to Work For and earned elite Honor Roll distinction in eight workplace categories. OCTC was evaluated in the medium sized category based on enrollment of 3,000-9,999 students.

Dr. Scott Williams, OCTC Chancellor commented, "Being named a Great College to Work For-and earning Honor Roll recognition in eight categories-reflects the supportive, collaborative culture our employees have built at OCTC. The 2026 results were based on a survey of colleges and universities nationwide, with 76 institutions receiving Great College to Work For recognition and 42 making the Honor Roll.

The results, released today in a special insert of The Chronicle of Higher Education, are based on a two-part assessment process: An institutional questionnaire capturing objective employment data and workplace policies, and a survey administered directly to faculty, staff, and administrators. Employee feedback is the primary factor in determining whether an institution receives recognition.

Honor Roll status is reserved for institutions that score highest across the program's workplace categories, with the top 10 four-year colleges and the top four two-year colleges in each enrollment size group receiving the distinction.

Modern Think, a strategic human capital consulting firm, administers the survey and analyzes the results.
