OCTC Names Warren as VP of Advancement

Owensboro, KY (07/10/2024) — Owensboro Community & Technical College (OCTC) has named Sydney Warren as the new Vice President of Advancement and Executive Director of the OCTC Foundation. The position became open after Dr. Mike Rodgers was selected as President of Wilkes Community College in North Carolina. Warren most recently served as the Vice President of Advancement for Brescia University, where she was an integral member of the team since 2012. Prior to joining the team at Brescia, she worked at the Greater Owensboro Chamber of Commerce.

"Sydney has the experience and a demonstrated track record of success. She also has a passion for education and strong connections to our community. That is a perfect match to help the OCTC Foundation continue to reach and exceed our goals and grow our support for students", said OCTC President Dr. Scott Williams

When asked what drew her to the position at OCTC, Warren commented, "I have a real passion for education and how it changes the community. I am excited for the opportunity to utilize my experience in annual campaigns, capital campaigns, legacy giving, endowments, and major gifts to support the students of OCTC and the Greater Owensboro community. I believe in fostering deep relationships with donors and helping them understand the impact their gifts have on students. Food, water, shelter, education, and employment are important to living a comfortable and healthy life. Many times, students need help in one or more of these areas, and we must be there to help fill these needs where we can."

Warren graduated from Daviess County High School, taking some courses at OCTC along the way, and earned a Bachelor of Science in Marketing from Murray State University and a Master's degree in Management from Brescia University. Warren has served on the Girl's Inc. Board of Directors and the Impact 100 Board and serves as a chair for Impact 100 Next Gen.

Warren is married to Isaac Warren, and they have two sons.
