OCTC Offering Graphic Design Courses

Owensboro, KY (07/15/2022) — Owensboro Community & Technical College (OCTC) announces the addition of two new graphic design courses that will be offered beginning in August. The courses are ART 251 Graphic Communication and ART 252: Typography, these online offerings will be taught by Joseph LoCicero, a Connecticut-based designer and educator.

ART 251: Graphic Communication I, is an introduction to basic graphic design techniques, and the art of using graphics to communicate visually. The ART 252: Typography course, is an introduction to the principles of typography, and the art of arranging and designing type to make written language appealing. These courses are offered as credit toward the Associate in Fine Arts degree. No prior experience or prerequisites are necessary.

Joseph LoCicero, earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Film and Television from New York University and a Master of Arts in Communication Arts from New York Institute of Technology. He specializes in print, collateral, and branding projects including advertising, book design, and educational marketing. Joseph LoCicero is currently an online instructor teaching graphic design at Kentucky Wesleyan College and branding at Bellevue University. He also teaches digital design and public speaking classes at several other colleges both online and in the classroom. He is particularly interested in teaching in the areas of Art & Design, Communication Design, Graphic Design, Branding, Conceptual Strategies and Advertising.
