OCTC's 32nd Annual 5K - GG Talbott Memorial Run

Owensboro, KY (04/01/2019) — The Grant G. Talbott III Memorial Run - Owensboro Community and Technical College's 32nd annual road race is Saturday, April 13.

Race day registration and check-in is from 7:30-8:30 a.m. at OCTC's main campus, 4800 New Hartford Road, Owensboro. All preregistered participants will receive a commemorative t-shirt. Shirts are not guaranteed for late registrants. Entry fee is $25, and $10 for OCTC students.

This 5K race/walk begins at 9 a.m. at Legion Park on East Byers Avenue and continues around Veach Road, ending at OCTC. Please park on campus. A complimentary shuttle will transport participants to the starting line.

There will be door prizes, including a drawing for $250 cash. You must be present to win. Awards and prize drawings will begin immediately following the race. Talbott served as a counselor and mentor at OCTC for 10 years after retiring from Owensboro High School. He was a friend and mentor to many during his lifelong commitment to education. Talbott coordinated the road race from 1998-2007. This is one of the longest continuing races in the region.
