OCTC's 37th Annual 5K - G.G. Talbott, III Memorial Run

Owensboro, KY (10/30/2023) — The Grant G. Talbott III Memorial Run - Owensboro Community and Technical College's (OCTC) 37th annual road race will be held in person and virtually. In person participants will run the 5K on Nov. 4, 2023; virtual participants may choose their own path and log their time online. All proceeds go to support OCTC students.
Race day registration and check-in is 7:30-8:30 a.m. at OCTC's main campus, 4800 New Hartford Road, Owensboro, KY. All preregistered participants will receive a commemorative t-shirt. Shirts are not guaranteed for late registrants. Entry fee is $25, and $10 for current OCTC students.
This 5K race/walk begins at 9 a.m. at Legion Park on East Byers Avenue and continues around Veach Road, ending at OCTC. Please, park on campus. A complimentary shuttle will transport participants to the starting line.
There will be door prizes, including a drawing for $250 cash. You must be present to win; ONLY in person participants are eligible for door prizes, drawings, and trophies. Awards and prize drawings will begin immediately following the race. The race is named in honor of Grant G. "GG" Talbott. Talbott who served as a counselor at OCTC for 10 years after retiring from Owensboro High School. He was a friend and mentor to many during his lifelong commitment to education. Talbott coordinated the road race from 1998-2007. This is one of the longest continuing races in the region.
