OCTC's AMTEC and Lowry Controls Launch The CUBE Simulator
Owensboro, KY (06/12/2026) — The Advanced Manufacturing Technical Education Collaborative (AMTEC) housed at Owensboro Community & Technical College (OCTC), is a national network of educational and industry partners committed to preparing highly skilled industrial maintenance and mechatronic technicians, that has partnered with Lowry Controls, engineering design and manufacturing company in Loveland, Ohio since 2014 to provide industry relevant training equipment options to classrooms and industrial training facilities across the United States.
After 12 years, the partnership remains strong, and both AMTEC and Lowry Controls are excited to announce the launch of a new trainer, The CUBE Simulator. The CUBE is a smaller version of the larger AMTEC V2 Simulator and includes key features: hydraulics, pneumatics, and a conveyor.
Built with industrial grade parts and equipment that technicians will likely experience in industry, The CUBE will allow classrooms and training facilities to provide a modern experience, focused on Industry 4.0 technologies. Incorporating tools with smart manufacturing components also offers students and entry-level technicians an easy transition from the classroom to the factory floor.
Kelly Lowry, Lowry Controls, shares his excitement about adding The CUBE Simulator to the current offerings, "We have had a great journey with AMTEC over the years, and The CUBE is only strengthening that partnership. We cannot wait for educators and future maintenance technicians to get their hands on this new piece of equipment that allows students to safely learn real-world skills while also experiencing and troubleshooting just like they will as a technician."
"We could not be more excited to launch The CUBE Simulator and cannot wait to have this trainer in schools across the country. Lowry Controls has been an amazing partner of AMTEC, and we are proud to work with them to develop training equipment that helps students prepare for the workforce. The tsunami of open positions in manufacturing is already being experienced, and our mission is to help address the skills gap by equipping educators, trainers, and workforce departments with the tools they need to stay industry-relevant." says Jason Simon, Director of AMTEC.
The CUBE Simulator is available to educational and industrial facilities through Lowry Controls. To request a quote or learn how the simulator can positively impact your trainings and classrooms, please contact Jason Simon at 270-686-4616 or jason.simon@kctcs.edu.
