OCTC's Book Group Covering an Array of Classics

Owensboro, KY (08/20/2018) — Owensboro Community & Technical College's book discussion group meets on Tuesday afternoons at 3:30 p.m. in the Humanities building in room H-103, on the main campus at 4800 New Hartford Road, Owensboro.

Featured this semester are Robert Penn Warren's All the King's Men, E. M. Forster's A Room with a View, Fiona Mountain's The Lady of Butterflies, Sir Walter Scott's Rob Roy, Amor Towles's A Gentleman in Moscow, and Mary Webb's Precious Bane.

The novels will be covered in order and Warren's All the King's Men is the Kentucky Humanities Council's "Kentucky Reads" selection for 2018-19. Warren earned a Pulitzer Prize for the political novel and it is highly regarded as one of the best novels of the 20th century.

"The rest of the works were chosen by group members and we selected the ones that got the most votes. It should be an interesting semester" added Carl Runyon, OCTC English faculty and coordinator of the group.
