OCTC Spanish Club to Host Colombian Culture presentation with Dr. Diana Rodriguez Quevedo

Owensboro, KY (10/20/2026) — The Owensboro Community & Technical College Spanish Club will host "Colombia: A Country of Contrasts" Thursday, Oct. 22, from 1-3 p.m. in in Blandford Lecture Hall in the Humanities Building on OCTC's Main Campus, located at 4800 New Hartford Road in Owensboro, KY. This event is free and open to the public.
Presented as part of the Hispanic Heritage Month celebration, the lecture will feature Dr. Diana Rodriguez Quevedo, associate professor of Spanish at the University of Evansville. Her presentation will explore Colombia's people, places and cultures, offering attendees an opportunity to learn more about the South American country.
Originally from Colombia and raised in Canada, Rodriguez Quevedo brings a multicultural perspective to the discussion. The lecture invites participants to broaden their understanding of Colombia and celebrate its cultural heritage.
Complimentary Colombian refreshments and coffee will be served following the lecture.
