OCTC TO ANNOUNCE NEW SCHOLARSHIP OPTIONS AND WORK READY PROGRAMS

Owensboro, KY (06/26/2017) — Owensboro Community & Technical College will announce the programs eligible for the Work Ready KY Scholarship and unveil a new scholarship partnership in conjunction with the OCTC Foundation, Inc. at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, June 27 in the ATC's Chandler Conference Center located on OCTC's main campus at 4800 New Hartford Road.

We will have some faculty and staff on hand to answer questions about the programs included in the Work Ready KY Scholarship, and financial aid staff to help navigate the process. Kentucky's Work Ready Scholarship was established by the Governor's Office, through KHEAA, to help Kentuckians earn an industry-recognized certificate or credential and covering all tuition costs. This is the first year for the program which only covers the areas of Healthcare, Advanced Manufacturing, Transportation, Business Services/Information Technology and Construction Trades.
The OCTC Foundation, Inc., is a 501c3 non-profit established in support of the college. OCTC in conjunction with the Foundation awarded 81 scholarships for the 2017-18 year, valued at $113, 850.
Representatives from the new partnership, along with OCTC Foundation personnel will be available following the check presentation ceremony.
