OCTC Welcomes Windy Hollow Cafe to Campus
Owensboro, KY (08/12/2025) — Owensboro Community & Technical College (OCTC) is excited to announce the arrival of Windy Hollow Cafe, opening August 18, 2025 on OCTC's Main Campus in the Campus Center, located at 4800 New Hartford Road, Owensboro, KY 42303.
Windy Hollow Cafe will offer a variety of menu items for breakfast, lunch, and snacks, including fresh-made lattes, smoothies, and signature favorites from their well-loved restaurants. Students, faculty, staff, and campus visitors will now have convenient access to great food and drinks right on campus.
"We are excited to be partnering with OCTC to bring restaurant quality food back to OCTC," said Evelyn Miller and Hallie McCarty, owners of Windy Hollow Restaurant and Windy Hollow Biscuit House. "Having a variety of fresh-made lattes and smoothies is something that we are really looking forward to offering."
Although Windy Hollow Cafe is a new concept, its roots run deep in the Owensboro community. "Windy Hollow Cafe may be brand new, but it can trace its roots back 61 years in our community," said Miller and McCarty. "I know our founders, Hal & Tom Miller, would be especially proud of serving students items that can be found in our restaurants as well as offering items never offered at Windy Hollow!"
The cafe will be managed by Hallie McCarty, who will also serve as head barista. "Making lattes is my happy place!" said McCarty, who uses locally roasted beans from Gene's Beans to craft each drink.
Windy Hollow Cafe will be open Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. To celebrate their opening, anyone who brings an OCTC cup or mug can enjoy a free iced tea or lemonade (limit one per day) through August 28, 2025.
The cafe is also hiring. Interested applicants can apply by emailing rooster@visitwindyhollow.com.
