Skylark Exhibit at OCTC's Dayman Gallery

Owensboro, KY (01/31/2023) — Owensboro Community & Technical College's Dayman Gallery is hosting an exhibition entitled "Skylark" which will run through March 17, 2023.

Skylark is OCTC's Literary and Art Magazine. Since 1987, OCTC's students, faculty, and staff have had the opportunity to publish their original poems, short stories, and visual art in this annual publication. Skylark is campus-focused and works to represent the best of the college's creative community. Skylark is an open place, a clearing, in which we invite and celebrate the creative act and the creative spirit. For the second consecutive year, this exhibition adds a new element to Skylark - incorporating a physical exhibition of both art and writing.

Artwork created by: Anika Atherton, Julia Bowlds, Martha Bratcher, Taylor Bristow, Louie Fuchs, Drake Gunter, Cynthia Lenn, Heather Maas, Lillian Martin, Katie Pierce, Rose Richards, Chloe Richeson, Roxy Rickard, English Roberts, and Gabriel Schoonover.

Creative writing by: Autumn Duckett, Tamara Harlan, Raylan Harmon, Angela Horton, and Phillip Langford.

The exhibition is co-organized by Professor of English, Matt Branham and Art Program Coordinator and Gallery Director, David Wilson. The Skylark publication will be issued during the Spring 202 semester! The exhibit is free and open to the public. The Dayman Gallery is located on the upper level of the Learning Resource Center on OCTC's main campus at 4800 New Hartford Road. Gallery hours are Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. For more information contact David Wilson at 270 686-4626 or davidd.wilson@kctcs.edu.
