Equally impressive is the program's 100% job placement rate, reaffirming its commitment to preparing students for successful careers in the veterinary field.
The program, now in its 10th cohort starting in Fall 2023, has seen graduates secure positions in diverse settings, including general practices, specialty clinics, the University of Florida, animal shelters, and rescues. Their success showcases the comprehensive education and specialization options provided by the program, encompassing over 10 different domains such as dentistry, anesthesia, equine care, and more.
OCTC Veterinary Technology Program Coordinator, Dr. Laura Boarman commented on the vital role that this program plays in the community: "I've seen firsthand the difference a qualified, well-trained technician can make in the life of a practice and its patients. I am extremely proud to be a part of OCTC and humbled to be a part of a program making a difference in the lives of our community."
OCTC's Veterinary Technology Program has consistently graduated up to 24 students annually, a testament to the carefully selected admissions process and the high standards upheld by the program. Prospective students are encouraged to apply by the May 1, 2024 deadline to become part of this exceptional educational experience-with a start date in August of next year.
To celebrate the success and impact of the program, OCTC is inviting attendees from various backgrounds, including area high schools, tri-state clinics, alumni, prospective students, and supporters in our community to join us Oct. 20, 2023 for an Open House and Guest Speaker.
