The OCTC Foundation Partners with German American Bank for the Emergency Student Loan Program

Owensboro, KY (11/30/2021) — The Owensboro Community & Technical College Foundation, Inc. has joined in #GivingTuesday on November 30, 2021, participating with millions around the world in the global generosity movement. This year, the OCTC Foundation, Inc. and Owensboro Community and Technical College (OCTC) are partnering with German American Bank on #GivingTuesday to enhance the OCTC Emergency Student Loan Program. College students have faced many challenges during the past year and this partnership will assist with removing barriers to student success. The program provides financial assistance to OCTC students who find themselves facing dire hardships or an unexpected financial situation and support them to complete their education, creating opportunities for a better life.

"Partnerships are vital to improving lives in Kentucky and we are very excited to have a partner like German American Bank step up and ensure we have the resources to continue meeting students where they are and getting them to where they want to be in life.", said Mike Rodgers, OCTC Foundation Executive Director and Chief Institutional Officer for OCTC.

German American Bank's generous gift of $25,000 to enhance this program shows their commitment to OCTC and the community and adds to a solid foundation for supporting student success for many years to come. We now have the ability serve additional students with the OCTC Emergency Student Loan Program fueled by German American Bank.

"There are few ways one can improve their lives faster than by obtaining a college education; and as an OCTC alumni myself, I've experienced first-hand the quality of this education," said Kyle Aud, Market President for German American Bank. "German American is very excited to partner with OCTC on the Emergency Student Loan Program and helping in this life changing endeavor. We know this gift will be put to its best use."

We also invite you to join us in partnership for student success this #GivingTuesday. Your generosity has supported the OCTC and the OCTC Foundation, Inc. through donations, grants and scholarships over the years, allowing OCTC to positively impact the lives of over 80,673 students to date.

Dr. Scott Williams, OCTC President commented, "All gifts to OCTC are not only critical to our success, but are greatly appreciated. The gift of an education, be it through a scholarship, or an equipment donation, is truly the gift that keeps on giving."

This #GivingTuesday, we ask you to keep the students in mind and support student success through a gift to the OCTC Foundation, Inc.
