Owensboro Community and Technical College Foundation, Inc. and Green River Distillery will announce a partnership to support student success on November 29, 2022 (#GivingTuesday). The announcement and check presentation will me made at the Green River Distillery at 1:30 pm in the Event Center Lounge Area. The OCTC Foundation Partners with Green River Distillery for #GivingTuesday 2022

Together with Green River Distilling Co., the Owensboro Community & Technical College Foundation, Inc. has joined in #GivingTuesday this November, participating with millions around the world in the global generosity movement. Today the two organizations announced the establishment of the Green River 10 Scholarship.
The Green River 10 scholarship will support the Owensboro community's workforce with the creation of a scholarship fund that will promote diversity, equity, and inclusion in any certificate, diploma, or associate degree program. The scholarship is designed to support students who identify as an underrepresented minority and are enrolled at OCTC in the Advanced Manufacturing Technology, Industrial Maintenance Technology, Commercial Driver's License, or an Associate in Science with emphasis on transferring and studying Laboratory Technician/Chemistry credentials.
"Through partnerships like this with Green River Distilling Co., we are changing lives and educating a workforce in our community that is second to none," said Mike Rodgers, OCTC Foundation Executive Director and Chief Institutional Officer for OCTC.
Green River Distillery's generous gift of $50,030 will provide scholarships for the next three years and demonstrates their commitment to the Greater Owensboro area. The partnership between OCTC and Green River Distillery ensures students have the resources to further their education and enter the workforce.
"Green River is excited to partner with the OCTC Foundation, Inc. and we are hopeful that the Green River 10 Scholarship can impact underrepresented students in this wonderful community, helping them meet their educational aspirations and dreams, while building a workforce in our community that meets the needs of today," said David Carroll, Green River Operations Director.
Community support of the OCTC Foundation, Inc. provides scholarships, emergency funds, the campus food pantry, and educational opportunities. Since 1986, donations have touched the lives of 82,986 individuals in our community.

This is yet another example of strong partnerships advancing our community's efforts in developing a highly skilled workforce. Together, OCTC and Green River are building a stronger community," said Dr. Scott Williams, OCTC President.
