Fall 2024 Juried Student Exhibition and Awards
The exhibition will remain on display in the Dayman Art Gallery through Nov. 22, 2024
Owensboro, KY (11/18/2024) — Owensboro Community and Technical College (OCTC) students participated in the college's Fall 2024 Juried Student Exhibition. The reception and awards ceremony occurred on November 13, 2024, in the Dayman Art Gallery on OCTC's Main Campus. The exhibition will remain on display in the gallery through Nov. 22, 2024.
The juror for this exhibition was David Jones, art faculty member from Southcentral Kentucky Community and Technical College (SKYCTC). SKYCTC and OCTC are two of sixteen colleges within the Kentucky Community and Technical College System. For this exhibition, Jones selected winners for merit awards as well as for the college's permanent art collection.
The Merit Awards, which include artwork completed this year went to the following students:
- Alexis Haney for Scrapbooking, collage
- Haley Burns for Lady Bug, woodcut print
- Elizabeth Goodman for The Cat and The Butterfly, charcoal drawing
The College Collection Awards, which include artwork completed this year will permanently join the OCTC Student Art Collection. This collection of artwork is displayed throughout OCTC's Main Campus as well as Downtown and Southeastern Campuses. This semester's College Collection Awards are as follows:
- 1st Place Braiden Willard for Canvas, pencil & charcoal drawing
- 2nd Place Kelley Fallon for Tower, Decaying, ceramic
- 3rd Place Katie Pierce for Overstimulated, acrylic on canvas
