Five OCTC Radiography Students Awarded Healthcare Workforce Scholarships

by Bernie Hale

Owensboro, KY (10/07/2026) — Five second-year students in Owensboro Community & Technical College's Radiography program have been selected to receive Healthcare Workforce Investment Fund scholarships for the fall 2026 and spring 2027 semesters.

Karissa Adams, Abigail Goodall, Kolby Hanley, Kaylyn Mullins and Amy Snyder will each receive $5,000 per semester, for a total of $10,000 per student. Together, the five awards represent $50,000 in support for students completing their final year of the program.

"These students are preparing for careers that make a direct difference in patients' lives," said Dr. Scott Williams, OCTC Chancellor. "We're grateful to Owensboro Health and the Kentucky Council on Postsecondary Education for investing in their education and in the future of healthcare in our region."

The scholarships are part of a $150,000 initiative announced in 2024. The Kentucky Council on Postsecondary Education awarded OCTC $75,000 through the Healthcare Workforce Investment Fund, with a dollar-for-dollar match from Owensboro Health. The fund was established by the Kentucky General Assembly to help strengthen the state's healthcare workforce.

"Radiography students balance demanding coursework with clinical training," said Michelle Tudor, OCTC Radiography Program Coordinator. "This support can help them focus on building the skills and confidence they'll bring to patients and healthcare teams after graduation."
