HealthForce Kentucky Hosts American Hospital Association Executives for Panel Discussion

Healthcare leaders, faculty, payers welcome to attend; afternoon will end with a baby-manikin gender reveal party to benefit local not-for-profit

Owensboro, KY (10/07/2026) — HealthForce Kentucky will host American Hospital Association executives for a "hot" topics panel discussion on Nov. 3 at its Innovation Center, giving healthcare leaders, policymakers, faculty, media, and others access to speakers' unique perspectives on industry issues.

Chris DeRienzo, MD, chief physician officer with the American Hospital Association and president of the association's not-for-profit foundation, the Health Research & Educational Trust (HRET,) will be joined by HRET vice president Kristin Preihs and senior program manager Kavita Bhat, M.D., for a tour of the Innovation Center, panel discussions and a special event. Dr. DeRienzo, an adjunct professor at the Duke University School of Medicine's Department of Pediatrics Division of Neonatology, will lead Beyond Concept: Behavioral Health in All Healthcare Settings. Preihs, with a background in clinical quality measures, will lead Medical Simulation Meets Real World: Re-imagining Simulation to Transform Medical Settings. HFK president and CEO Bruce Williams will moderate the discussions.

Seating at the Innovation Center, located at 2511A Frederica Street in Owensboro, is limited to 50 participants. DeRienzo's discussion will be from 1-1:30 p.m. and Preihs' discussion will take place from 1:30-2 p.m. Both times are Central Time. Registration is required at the link below.

The afternoon will end with a special event to benefit an Owensboro not-for-profit organization. An infant medical simulation manikin, modeled after a full-term baby, is due to be delivered to HFK soon after Nov. 3. To celebrate, a gender reveal party is planned, and it will benefit St. Gerard 's Maternal Home of St. Benedict's, Owensboro. Guests are asked to bring donations from items identified below. They will be given to St. Gerard's, a crisis home for pregnant women experiencing homelessness.

Requested items include new/never used disposable diapers, sizes 1 and 2; unscented wipes, lotion, shampoo, diaper cream, pacifiers, infant socks and hats, bottles and nipples, disposable nursing pads, maternity pads and laundry detergent.

Registration for the panel discussions and gender reveal are required by Oct 27.
