OAWAC Hosting "What's Wrong with the Global Economy?"

Owensboro, KY (09/03/2019) — The Owensboro Area World Affairs Council (OAWAC) is hosting a free public lecture and discussion with Dr. Brian Strow, entitled What's Wrong with the Global Economy? on Monday, September 16, 2019 at 7 p.m. This event will be held at Owensboro Community and Technical College's (OCTC) Advanced Technology Center in the Chandler Conference Center (ATC107) located at 4800 New Hartford Road, Owensboro, KY
A frequent guest of OAWAC, Dr. Brian Strow is a graduate of Wheaton College (IL) and earned his Ph.D. in Economics from Vanderbilt University. Since the fall of 1999, he has taught economics at Western Kentucky University (WKU), where he has won both the teaching and public service awards for the Gordon Ford College of Business.
Dr. Strow has published in the areas of economic history, macroeconomics, labor economics, economic education, and morality and public policy. He regularly appears in local, state, and national media regarding public policy and has been an economic advisor to candidates for statewide and federal offices. He is a member of the Board of Scholars for the Bluegrass Institute for Public Policy Solutions. Dr. Strow runs and writes articles for the WKU BB&T Center for the Study of Capitalism, and served two terms on the Bowling Green, Kentucky, city commission from 2005-2008.
The Owensboro Area World Affairs Council is committed to empowering citizens to participate in world affairs through dialogue and education; providing information and expertise on current international, political, economic, and social issues; helping people relate their local concerns to global issues; fostering international interests among area youth; and building strategic alliances with counterpart organizations.
