OCTC, KCTCS, and KAM Hosting Kentucky Manufacturing "Going Pro" Signing Day

Owensboro, KY (05/15/2019) — WHO: Rookies in advanced manufacturing and the companies they are signing with from local industry.

WHAT: Owensboro Community & Technical College, all the other Kentucky Community and Technical Colleges (KCTCS) and members of the Kentucky Association of Manufacturers (KAM) will celebrate the first Kentucky Manufacturing "Going Pro" Signing Day across the state for new hires in advanced manufacturing.

WHEN: May 17, 9 a.m.

WHERE: Owensboro Community and Technical College, Industry Innovation Center, 4800 New Hartford Road, Owensboro

MORE: Recent graduates from programs in advanced manufacturing are being highlighted for "Going Pro" by signing on for a new career with a local manufacturer.

There are thousands of open positions in advanced manufacturing, and employers are having difficulty filling these jobs because of a lack of trained workers.

KCTCS is the primary provider of manufacturing training in Kentucky and is the solution to the state's workforce shortage.

KCTCS has more than 300 advanced manufacturing partners statewide.

Manufacturing is a substantial part of Kentucky's economy.
