OCTC 1st Annual Girls Empowerment Trail Blazer Dinner

1st Annual Girls Empowerment Trail Blazer Dinner featuring Ashley Parlett

Owensboro, KY (02/02/2018) — Owensboro Community & Technical College (OCTC) will host the 1st Annual Girls Empowerment Trail Blazer Dinner on Friday, February 9, featuring Ashley Parlett. Ashley is a professional mechanic for NASCAR and an advocate for young women pursuing their passions and goals. With support from her parents, she began go-kart racing at the age of thirteen, and had a strong interest in the mechanics of her race car which fueled her desire to pursue a career in professional mechanics. She believes there is "much work to be done for women in the world of business," and is looking forward to sharing her story and "passing the baton to the next generation of go-getters."

We invite women of all ages to join us to hear Ashley's inspirational story about setting goals and blazing her own trail. The dinner will take place on OCTC's Main Campus at 5:30 p.m. in the Advanced Technology Center, Room 107. This free event is sponsored by the OCTC Foundation, Inc., the Local #633 Plumbers & Pipefitters and the Daviess County Public Schools Foundation. Seating is limited, so reserve your seat today! RSVP to cadie.underwood@kctcs.edu or call 270.686.4663.
