OCTC Announces Holiday Break Schedule, Winter Term and Spring Semester Information

Owensboro, KY (12/12/2024) — Owensboro Community and Technical College (OCTC) has announced its upcoming holiday break schedule and important dates for upcoming terms. The college will be closed for the holiday break from December 23, 2024, through January 3, 2025. Normal operations will resume on Monday, January 6, 2025, at 8:00 a.m.

During the closure, prospective students can continue to apply for admission through the college's website at owensboro.kctcs.edu by selecting the Apply button. The KCTCS Student Service Center will remain available to answer questions throughout the break period at 1-855-5GO-OCTC.

A 4-Week Winter Term is available for interested students with all courses available online. The Winter Term begins on December 16, 2024 and ends on January 12, 2025. Registration is open now and will continue through December 16, 2024. Courses available for the Winter Term include: Introduction to Biology (BIO 112), Human Anatomy & Physiology with Lab (BIO 137), Human Anatomy & Physiology II with Lab (BIO 139), Principles of Macroeconomics (ECO 202), General Psychology (PSY 110), and Sociology (SOC 101).

New students can sign up in person at the START Center, temporarily located in the lower level of the Advanced Technology (ATC 107), on the Main Campus at 4800 New Hartford Road, open M-F 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. For a personal appointment new students may email octc.startcenter@kctcs.edu, or call 270-686-4522. Current students may see an advisor in the Pathfinder Den, temporarily located in the upper level of the Advanced Technology Center (ATC 217) for a personal appointment students may call 270-686-4683 or email octc.pathfinderden@kctcs.edu.

4-Week Winter Term, all online, December 16, 2024 - January 12, 2025

Holiday Closure: December 23, 2024 - January 3, 2025

Campus Reopens: January 6, 2025, at 8:00 a.m.

Spring Semester Begins: January 13, 2025
