Owensboro, KY (04/02/2025) — Owensboro Community & Technical College (OCTC) is excited to announce an upcoming Art Auction on Friday, April 11, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the OCTC Downtown Campus, Room 8. This event will raise funds to support the Associate in Fine Arts - Visual Arts (AFA-VA) program, with a focus on providing scholarships for students enrolled in the program.

The auction will feature artworks donated by the owner of Studio 105, following the studio's recent closure. These exclusive pieces will be available for bidding in a live auction, while prints will be available in a silent auction.

Guests will enjoy an evening with hors d'oeuvres and wine refreshments served throughout the event. The schedule includes a social and preview hour from 5:00 to 6:00 PM, featuring live music, a fiddle and guitar duet by Scott Napier and Mackenzie Bell, followed by the live and silent auctions from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.

"We are so grateful to Jamie Dewitt at Studio 105 for generously donating this diverse collection of valuable original artwork. This event is an exciting opportunity for the community to come together to support our tenacious visual art students and take home some stunning, one-of-a-kind art, all in one memorable evening. Funds raised will directly support our students by funding visual art scholarships at OCTC for the first time ever." said Abbi Ruppert, Art Instructor and Art Program Coordinator.

All proceeds from the event will directly benefit the AFA-VA program, ensuring continued support for students pursuing their passion for the visual arts. OCTC is grateful to Open Door Unitarian Universalist Fellowship for sponsoring this special event.
