OCTC Board of Directors Elects New Leadership
Owensboro, KY (11/16/2022) — Owensboro Community & Technical College Board of Directors elected members to new leadership positions for 2023 at their meeting held Thursday, November 10, 2022.
Doug Hoyt, CEO of the Wendell Foster Center was elected as Chair. Pat Jones, retired educator, will serve as Vice Chair, and M. Joan Hayden of Hayden Electric and Hayden Farms will serve as Secretary.
The ten-person board of directors is comprised of seven governor appointed members, and elected representatives from the student body, college faculty, and staff, respectively. Appointed members may serve six-year terms and elected members terms are three years.
Governor appointed members also includes Charles "Buzz" Backstrom, William K. Mounts, CeCelia W. Robinson and Jordan Lanham.
Elected members include Zara Basham, OCTC faculty representative, Sharmy Davis, OCTC staff representative, and the Student Representative is Silas Zuelly, who is the president of OCTC's Student Government Association.
