OCTC Hosting Level Up Camp

Owensboro, KY (05/12/2021) — Owensboro (OCTC) Community & Technical College is hosting Level Up Camp from June 21-July 30, 2021. OCTC received a grant from the Kentucky Council on Postsecondary Education (CPE) for a Summer bridge program to help students transition to college and persist to a second year.

OCTC's Level Up Camp will meet on Monday and Wednesday from 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. and successful participants will earn a free college credit hour for completing the program. Level Up Camp is geared toward recent high school graduates. Upon successful completion of the program the participants will become eligible for an OCTC scholarship up to $1,500 for the fall semester. Underrepresented minorities are encouraged to apply.

OCTC's Level Up Camp will provide students with an overview of campus services, success strategies and career options. Utilizing a STEAM-science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics approach, faculty from all the employment sectors will provide students with background on the skills and knowldege needed to be successful in specific areas.

This project was funded by the U.S. Department of Education with the Governor's Emergency Education Relief Fund (GEER) funds, authorized by Section 18002 of the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security Act (CARES) to provide emergency aid to states to combat the COVID-19 pandemic.
