OCTC Hosting Multiple Graduation Ceremonies for May 2019
Wed., May 15 and Thurs., May 16
Owensboro, KY (05/09/2019) — Owensboro Community & Technical College (OCTC) will hold its Commencement Ceremonies at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 15, and Thursday, May 14, 2019 at the RiverPark Center, located at 101 Daviess Street in Owensboro. OCTC is expanding their May 2019 Commencement ceremony and will host two celebrations to accommodate all the families and friends of the graduates. The college will award 1246 credentials to 433 graduates over the two-day event.
The student address will be delivered by Kaylee Meador. Other featured students include: Abby Adcox singing "You Raise Me Up" at Wednesday's ceremony, PTK President and SGA Vice President-Brooklyn Knight and PTK Honor Society Member-Maggie M. Wilhoite. The keynote address on Wednesday will be delivered by Mrs. Vicki Stogsdill. The Honorable Mr. Joe Bowen will deliver the keynote address for the Thursday event.
The programs participating in the Wednesday ceremony include the Allied Health programs: Emergency Medical Technician, Fire Rescue Science Technology, Medical Assisting, Medical Information Technology, Nurse Aide, Nursing, Paramedic, Radiography, Surgical Technology and Administrative Office Technology. In addition, all the Early College students will be included at this ceremony.
The programs slated for the Thursday commencement: Associate in Arts, Associate in Science, Associate in Fine Arts - Theatre, Associate in Fine Arts - Visual Art, Agricultural Studies, Air Conditioning Technology, Automotive Technology, Business Administration Systems, Computer and Information Technologies, Computerized Manufacturing and Machining, Criminal Justice, Diesel Technology, Electrical Technology, General Occupational Technical Studies, Healthcare Facilities Leadership, Industrial Maintenance Technology, Interdisciplinary Early Childhood Education, Veterinary Technology, and Welding.
Graduates for both ceremonies are invited to participate in a rehearsal that will be held at 3:30 p.m. in the RiverPark Center on Tuesday, May 14.
