OCTC RAD Students Achieve 100% Pass Rate for National Licensure Exam

Owensboro, KY (06/21/2019) — Owensboro Community and Technical College (OCTC) had eightstudents graduate with an Associate in Applied Science degree in Radiography in May. These students must also successfully pass a national professional licensure exam administered by American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) in order to gain employment in the field. The students from OCTC achieved a 100% first time pass rate on the exam. The program has achieved a 100% first time pass rate in 11 of the past 12 years.

"This is a great accomplishment and true testament to the dedication of the students in the program. It is also a credit to the faculty and the folks who work with the students in the clinical setting. We are extremely proud." said OCTC President, Dr. Scott Williams.

Dr. Joy Menser, coordinator for the radiography program added, "We try and emphasize both the technical and patient care skills. It is really the student dedication that makes our program so successful."

Radiography is a selective admissions program. For more information about the program, please contact Joy Menser at (270)686-4633or email at joy.menser@kctcs.edu. OCTC is currently enrolling for the fall semester which begins August 19.

Interested students may apply online at owensboro.kctcs.edu or stop by the START Center on the Main Campus at 4800 New Hartford Road, Owensboro. The START Center is open Monday - Thursday 8 a.m.- 5:30 p.m. and Friday 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
