OCTC's 31st Annual GG Talbott 5K

Owensboro, KY (04/02/2018) — The Grant G. Talbott III Memorial Run - Owensboro Community and Technical College's 31st annual road race will be Saturday, April 14, 2018. All proceeds from the race support the Grant G. Talbott Scholarship fund and participating student clubs.

Race day registration and check in will be 7:30-8:30 a.m. at OCTCs main campus, 4800 New Hartford Road. All preregistered participants will receive a commemorative t-shirt. Shirts not guaranteed for late registrants. Entry fee is $25 for participants and $10 for OCTC students. Online registration is provided by Rise Up & Run and the link is https://register.chronotrack.com/r/37345.

This challenging 5K race/walk will begin at 9 a.m. at Legion Park on East Byers Avenue and continue around Veach Road, ending at OCTC. Please park on campus. A complimentary shuttle will transport participants to the starting line.

There will be door prizes, including a drawing for $250 cash. You must be present to win. Awards and prize drawings will begin immediately following the race. Talbott served as a counselor and mentor at OCTC for 10 years after retiring from Owensboro High School. He was a friend and mentor to many during his lifelong commitment to education. Talbott coordinated the road race from 1998-2007. This is one of the longest continuing races in the region.
