OCTC's Dayman Gallery Hosting "Memories in the Shadows" Art Exhibition by Haley Clancy Inyart

Introduces New Program Coordinator Abbi Ruppert

Owensboro, KY (08/10/2023) — Owensboro Community & Technical College (OCTC) is pleased to announce a new art exhibit entitled, Memories in the Shadows, featuring the works of Haley Clancy Inyart. The exhibit will run through October 7, 2023. OCTC will host an exhibit reception on Monday, September 25, from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. in the Dayman Gallery.

Haley Clancy Inyart earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Art and Design with a focus in Drawing from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE). Inyart has been included in many group, juried and invitational exhibitions across the United States. Her recent solo exhibitions include The Governor French Gallery in Belleville, IL, Dimensions Gallery in Bloomington, IN and Wild Arts Collective in New Paltz, NY. Inyart is currently Co-Director of The In Art Gallery while pursuing her Master of Fine Arts degree from the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville in Studio Art. This exhibit is the first installation by OCTC's new Art Instructor, Abbi Ruppert. Ruppert began her OCTC career on August 1, 2023. She earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Sculpture from SIUE in 2021 and a Master of Arts from West Virginia University (WVU) in 2022. Ruppert's most recent experience was teaching 3D Foundations at WVU. As an artist, Ruppert is a sculptor, printmaker, and installation artist. In 2022 she had a large-scale public work on the Evansdale Campus of WVU, a Rooms to Let installation in Cleveland, Ohio. Ruppert has earned a second-place award and the People's Choice Award for her sculpture Revival at the Art in Public Places exhibition in Knoxville, Tennessee. She's earned the 2020 Outstanding Student Achievement Award in Contemporary Sculpture from the International Sculpture Center. Learn more at https://www.abbiruppert.com/portfolio.

The exhibition is located in the Dayman Art Gallery on the upper level of the Learning Resource Center, located on the Main Campus at 4800 New Hartford Road, admission is free, and the gallery is open Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

OCTC offers an Associate in Fine Arts, Visual Arts degree. Those interested in coursework may contact Abbi.Ruppert@kctcs.edu. Classes for the fall semester begin August 14, 2023, new terms begin in October.
