This prestigious honor recognizes her outstanding leadership, advocacy, and unwavering commitment to the veterinary technology profession.

Professor Jackson brings over a decade of experience in higher education and veterinary technology. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Veterinary Technology from Murray State University, a Master of Science in Education from Morehead State University, and is a Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT). Her professional credentials include Recover Small Animal Basic Life Support Certification, Certified Fear Free Professional, and she is a Fellow of the Association of Veterinary Technician Educators.

As a Professor of Veterinary Technology and faculty advisor for OCTC's Student Chapter of the National Association of Veterinary Technicians in America (SCNAVTA), Professor Jackson has mentored and inspired countless students. She is known for her dedication to academic excellence and for instilling the values of professionalism, integrity, and compassion that define the veterinary technician profession.

Her influence reaches far beyond the classroom. Professor Jackson regularly visits elementary, middle, and high schools to promote veterinary technology as a career, sparking interest in the field among young learners. She is also a passionate advocate for veterinary technician license protection, working to ensure that technicians receive the recognition and respect they deserve.

In addition to her educational and outreach efforts, Professor Jackson serves as the President of the Kentucky Veterinary Technician Association, where she leads statewide initiatives to advance the profession. Her colleagues describe her as compassionate, driven, and innovative-qualities that make her a standout leader and role model.

"Professor Jackson is more than an educator-she's a mentor, a visionary, and a tireless advocate for the veterinary technician profession," said Dr. Laura Boarman, Director of Veterinary Technology at OCTC. "Her passion and integrity inspire everyone around her."

OCTC President Dr. Scott William added, "Professor Jackson's recognition as KVTA Veterinary Technician of the Year is a testament to her enduring impact on veterinary education and the broader community.
