OCTC's MEDICAL ASSISTING PROGRAM HOSTING OPEN HOUSE
Tuesday, April 23, 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.
Owensboro, KY (04/19/2024) — OCTC's Medical Assisting program is holding an open house on Tuesday, April 23, from 11:30 a.m. -1:30 p.m., Program Coordinator Natalie Horstman will be on OCTC's Main Campus in HealthForce 1, the mobile unit for HealthForce Kentucky in the P5 lot, located near the HWY 231 entry to campus. The event will cover the skills needed and the opportunities available in medical assisting. There will be hands-on interactive stations and the event is free and open to the public.
The medical assisting program has been revamped to accommodate the busy adult looking to work while in school and maintain a busy family life. The program will meet two days per week on campus, with the balance of the program being delivered in an online format.
This hybrid model will allow students the support they need and offer the flexibility to work and/or tend to children while in the program. The program prepares graduates to sit for the national exam to become certified medical assistants.
The Medical Assisting program is eligible for the Work Ready Kentucky Scholarship. This scholarship program is funded by the Kentucky Lottery and was created for citizens of Kentucky who do not have an associate degree and are interested in some high-demand fields. Find out if you qualify at www.workreadykentucky.com.
