Owensboro Community & Technical College Foundation, Inc. Receives Grant Funding to Upgrade Electrical Technology Lab
The Cleveland-Cliffs Foundation Awards $25,000 Grant to OCTC
Owensboro, KY (10/27/2023) — Owensboro Community & Technical College Foundation, Inc. recently received a grant from The Cleveland-Cliffs Foundation to allow the OCTC Electrical Technology Lab to be upgraded and modernized to train students with the skills needed in business and industry. The Cleveland-Cliffs Foundation strives to have a positive impact in the areas where they operate by partnering with and investing in non-profit organizations that enhance educational opportunities, protect and improve the environment, promote human health, and support vibrant communities.
"This partnership with The Cleveland-Cliffs Foundation will further position the electrical technology program to continue providing quality, innovative training that meets the workforce needs for years to come." said Mike Rodgers, OCTC Foundation Executive Director and Chief Institutional Officer for OCTC.
The support received from The Cleveland-Cliffs Foundation will ensure student success and equip the lab with the necessary tools to prepare the next generation of electricians to serve the community.
Dr. Scott Williams, OCTC President commented, "The support of The Cleveland-Cliffs Foundation will make a tremendous impact on the lives of our students as they seek quality training programs. The Electrical Technology Program leads to high-wage earning career opportunities that allow individuals to achieve their dreams and create a better life for themselves and their families. With the upgrade, the program can continue to help students stay on the path to success."
