Owensboro, KY (09/09/2019) — Owensboro Health has partnered with Owensboro Community and Technical College's Workforce Solutions division to host a job fair for prospective new hires interested in a phlebotomy career.

Owensboro Health recruiters will be on hand to share information about employment and the hospital's fast track training partnership with OCTC, where hired applicants can earn wages while training to become certified phlebotomists. Phlebotomists are people trained to draw blood from a patient for clinical or medical testing, transfusions, donations, or research.

Applicants hired for this Phlebotomy Work & Learn program will train on Mondays and Wednesdays from 4-7 p.m. for a ten-week period. Regular work hours will be based on the employer's schedule. Tuition and other course costs will be paid by Owensboro Health.

The Phlebotomy Job Fair will be held on Thursday, September 12, 2019 at OCTC's Downtown Campus located at 1501 Frederica Street, Owensboro. The event is open to the public and will provide assistance with the Owensboro Health job application process. Initial interviews will also be conducted. Interested individuals may choose to attend either the 9:15-11:15 a.m. or the 4:15-6:15 p.m. session.

Cindy Fiorella, Vice President of Workforce Solutions added, "This is an incredible opportunity to not only start a career with one of the top employers in our area, but also get your training completely paid for."
