UNIFIRST PARTNERSHIP OUTFITS CAPITAL BLUEGRASS BAND

by Bernie Hale

Owensboro, KY (05/11/2026) — The Owensboro Community and Technical College Capital Bluegrass Band is proud to announce the renewal of its partnership with UniFirst Corporation of Owensboro. As part of this continued collaboration, UniFirst will provide official stage attire shirts featuring the Capital Bluegrass and Traditional Music Program logo for use during OCTC Bluegrass performances.

Lori Hoagland, Customer Service Manager at UniFirst commented, "We are proud to partner with OCTC's Capital Bluegrass Music Program and recognize the impact it has within the Owensboro community and beyond."

This partnership reflects a shared commitment to professionalism, community engagement, and the continued growth of one of the region's most unique academic music programs. The new performance shirts will be worn by student musicians at events both locally and across the country, representing OCTC and its bluegrass tradition on a broader stage. The Capital Bluegrass Band ensemble has already performed in cities such as Raleigh, Toledo, Chattanooga, and Nashville.

Program Coordinator Scott Napier expressed his appreciation for the collaboration: "We are so thrilled to have this relationship with UniFirst-a relationship that already exists with OCTC. I couldn't think of a better resource for our school performance attire. We will proudly wear these shirts at events locally and nationally."

Sydney Warren, Executive Director of the OCTC Foundation also emphasized the important of community support, "when our students step on stage wearing these shirts, they're not just representing OCTC-they're carrying forward a tradition that connects generations. We're grateful to UniFirst for helping our students shine wherever they perform."

The OCTC Capital Bluegrass and Traditional Music Program continues to provide students with opportunities to perform, and represent Kentucky's rich musical heritage, and partnerships like this help ensure students present themselves with pride and professionalism wherever they go.
