Owensboro, KY (12/11/2024) — Owensboro Community & Technical College (OCTC) will hold its commencement Ceremony at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, December 17, 2024, at the RiverPark Center, located at 101 Daviess Street in Owensboro. The College will award 728 credentials to 464 graduates during the event.

"Graduation is always an exciting event, and we cannot wait to celebrate it with these students and their families," added Dr. Scott Williams, OCTC president.

Laura Atkinson Ramburger, a graduation candidate in the Administrative Office Technology program, will deliver the student address. She is a proud nontraditional student and is a member of Phi Theta Kappa and the Society of Collegiate Leadership and Achievement. She recently retired from the McLean County Board of Education after 22 years of service. Ramburger is also a singer/songwriter, musician, and independent recording artist. After graduation, she plans to transfer to Western Kentucky University to pursue a bachelor's degree in Workforce Administration. Ramburger has been married to Sherman for 38 years, and she has an adult daughter, Lacey.

The special music will feature an original song, "Angel Wing Waltz," composed and performed by OCTC Capital Bluegrass and Traditional Music (CBTM) student Mackenzie Bell, who will also play the violin. CBTM program coordinator Scott Napier will accompany her on mandolin and OCTC Vice President of Business Affairs Sarah Price on dulcimer.

Graduates are invited to a rehearsal on Monday, December 16, at 3:30 p.m. in the RiverPark Center.
