Owensboro, KY (03/13/2025) — Owensboro Community & Technical College (OCTC) will host a series of preadmission conferences for individuals interested in the Surgical Technology program. These sessions provide essential information about program requirements, the application process, and career opportunities in the field.

The preadmission conferences will be held both in person at the OCTC Main Campus Science Building and virtually via Microsoft Teams. Sessions are scheduled for Tuesday, March 18, 2025, at 2:00 p.m.; Thursday, March 27, 2025, at 2:00 p.m.; and Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. Prospective students who wish to attend virtually can access the sessions via Microsoft Teams using the following links: bit.ly/SurgTechInfoSession2 for the March 18 session, bit.ly/SurgTechInfoSession3 for the March 27 session, and bit.ly/SurgTechInfoSession4 for the April 16 session.

OCTC's Surgical Technology program prepares students for careers as surgical technologists, working alongside surgeons, anesthesiologists, and nurses in operating rooms. Upon completion of the program, students are eligible to take the national professional certification exam administered by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA). Due to high demand, the program has a limited number of seats available each year.
