Owensboro Community & Technical College is open for registration this Saturday, January 11, from 9 a.m. -12 p.m. on the main campus in the Campus Center. Many students will be able to apply and register on the same day. The OCTC Bookstore, also located on the main campus, will be open during these hours as well. Classes begin on Monday, January 13.    Registration will remain open through Wednesday, January 16. Interested students may also apply online by visiting www.owensboro.kctcs.edu and select "Start Your Application" or drop by the main campus at 4800 New Hartford Road, Owensboro in the START Center located in the upper level of the Campus Center. The START Center office hours are Monday-Thursday 8 a.m.-5:30 p.m. and Friday 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Owensboro Community and Technical College (OCTC) will be closed December 23 - January 3 for the holiday break. The college will reopen on January 6, 2020 at 8 a.m.    During the institutional closing, interested students may apply online at owensboro.kctcs.edu and select the Start Your Application button.    Any questions during the closing may be sent to octc.info@kctcs.edu, or may be handled through the KCTCS Student Service Center at 1-855-5GO-OCTC. OCTC spring semester classes begin January 13, 2020.

OCTC will hold its December Commencement Ceremony at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, December 19, 2019 at the RiverPark Center, located at 101 Daviess Street in Owensboro. The college will award 1112 credentials to 373 fall and summer semester graduates. The student address will be delivered by Gage Michael Camron. Other students featured in the ceremony include: Abby Adcox, Jonathan Edward Bozarth, Eder Uziel Romero, and OCTC alumnus Justin Kurz.    Gage Michael Camron is graduating with an Associate in Applied Science degree in Electrical Technology, with a 4.0 GPA. He participated in the GO FAME program and worked at Metalsa while completing his studies. Camron was a member of OCTC’s Human Exploration Rover Challenge Team, placing ninth.  After graduation, he plans to continue his education at Western Kentucky University and pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Organizational Leadership. The event is free and open to the public. Owensboro Community & Technical College is a public, two-year, open admissions college accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges and is one of the sixteen colleges that make up the Kentucky Community & Technical College System (KCTCS). Most OCTC students are from the counties of Daviess, Ohio, Hancock and McLean in Kentucky, but many others travel from elsewhere in Kentucky and southern Indiana.
